Just Sold | 3432 Old Town Road, Bridgeport — A Full Investment Cycle, Start to Finish

3432 Old Town Road, Bridgeport, CT | Sold for $430,000

3432 Old Town Road sold for $430,000, $5,000 over the $425,000 asking price, with multiple offers — twice. I helped these clients buy the property as an investment in 2017 for $180,000, and nine years later I sold it for them at roughly 139% appreciation. In between, the first contract collapsed and I rebuilt the sale in under thirty days. Here is what made that possible.

By the Numbers

  • Final Sale Price: $430,000 – $5,000 above the $425,000 asking price, with multiple offers
  • Original Purchase Price: $180,000 in 2017 – acquired as an investment with my guidance
  • Appreciation: approximately 139% – realized across nine years of ownership
  • Second Contract to Closing: under 30 days – after the original buyer could not secure financing

Why the Deal Survived

Most sellers in this position start over. My clients accepted an offer, the file moved toward closing, and then the buyer could not obtain financing — the point at which a listing usually goes back to market carrying the stigma of a failed contract. That is not what happened here, and the reason is that the demand had never been about one buyer.

Demand is not something you capture once. It is something you build. Because the property had drawn multiple offers in its first week on the market, I still had a live pool of interested buyers to return to. I reconnected with them, received multiple offers a second time, secured a new contract, and closed in under thirty days.

The Preparation Behind It

This home was not turnkey, and pretending otherwise would have cost my clients money. A strategic refresh and virtual staging let buyers read the space accurately and let investors see the upside without having to imagine it. Positioning mattered as much as presentation: near Sacred Heart University and the Trumbull and Fairfield lines, this property works for an owner-occupant and for an investor, and I marketed it to both rather than choosing one.

A 1955 ranch of roughly 1,429 square feet with three bedrooms, a full bath, a two-car detached garage and a third of an acre, it is exactly the kind of well-located, versatile property this pocket keeps rewarding.

Congratulations to My Clients

The best part of this one is that it closed a loop. I represented these clients when they bought this property, again when they sold it, and I am now helping them look for their next investment. That continuity is the highest compliment my business receives!

I wrote about this one when it first went under contract, if you want the earlier chapter.
